If you’re an active NZMCA self-containment officer and you want to become a NZMCA vehicle inspector under the government’s new regulations, you have the option of either attending a practical training session or sitting an online, open book assessment and achieving a >80% pass mark. You only need to undertake one option, but you are welcome to do both if you prefer.

Practical training sessions are being held in regions around the country during August and September 2024 to help our active self-containment officers become qualified vehicle inspectors for the NZMCA. Each session will be run by a volunteer self-containment ambassador(s) and last for up to 6 hours, depending on the number of registered attendees.

We have also developed a new technical guidelines with help from our technical advisors, to assist members and our vehicle inspectors understand and correctly apply the new regulations as they differ to the current standard NZS 5465:2001.
