Feilding is a charming rural town, with a close-knit community located in Manawatu, in the heart of the lower North Island. It’s a town with no traffic lights or parking meters, yet can have the buzz of a busy cosmopolitan area with numerous quality cafes and eateries - the perfect destination for those on the road.
The District’s most attractive feature for travellers is its central location. It is the gateway to four other regions – Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, Rangitikei and Horowhenua. When based in Feilding you are just two hours from Napier, Wellington and Mount Ruapehu, one hour from Masterton and three hours from New Plymouth.
Manawatu District has a population of around 27,000 with approximately 15,000 in Feilding.
What the town is known for
The town centre has an attractive quadrant that surrounds its landmark clock tower sitting in the middle of the town centre. Around the quadrant are the town’s shops, cafes, bakeries, banks and every other service you may require.
Feilding is also the home of Manfeild Park, which hosts many popular national and local events.
There are several large attractive parks, including Timona Park which lies beside the Oroua River and Kowhai Park which is next to Manfeild.
Renowned for its picturesque gardens, Feilding has won the New Zealand’s Most Beautiful Town – 14 times.
