All certified self-contained vehicles must display a warrant card clearly showing the expiry date of certification and keep inside the vehicle a certificate with the vehicle's containment specifications.
If the vehicle is still certified under NZS 5465:2001 it will display a blue warrant card.
If the vehicle is certified under the government’s new self-containment regulations it will display a green warrant card.
If the vehicle is certified under the NZMCA’s new certification programme because it has a portable toilet or the owner does not freedom camp, it will display a yellow warrant card.

Please note - although the NZMCA's database contains extensive vehicle self-containment information, a small number of vehicles are not certified through the NZMCA, therefore the record may not be housed electronically.
