As an Association founded by members who took their entire family on the road, it's apt to have events with a strong focus on the ties that bind
Two major rally events in early January 2025 offer the perfect opportunity to bring everyone along for a taste of the lifestyle members have enjoyed for nearly seven decades
Save the Dates: January 5 – 10, 2025
Lake Rerewhakaaitu Domain
Places for the Children’s Rally are almost full. A waiting list will be set up.
Activities include the giant waterslide, swimming and canoeing on the lake, a challenge course, various ball games, a stimulating craft programme, movie night, old fashioned games, a talent quest, a BBQ night and more.
We are having a teddy bears’ picnic, so bring along your teddy or favourite soft toy. There will be a Disco too and if you are into Diamond Art, please bring along a completed piece to display for all to see.
The weekend will be full of fun things to do, with organised team games and space for the children to have free time to spend making new friends and catching up with old ones.
We have received great sponsorship through the National Office and support from the Canterbury Area to make this a great, fun event for you and the family.
We want all parents and caregivers to be involved with their children’s activities over the rally and hope that some of you will be able to oversee some games. We would love to hear from you if you can help in this way.
You will receive a registration form, which you need to complete and return by 30 November along with the rally fee of $40 per adult. Once received, you will then be sent an information sheet and a Consent Form, which you bring with you to the rally.
If you are bringing a dog with you, we will need to see their Parvo vaccination certificate.

There are a heap of activities planned for the children and the Swannanoa School boasts a lot of things to keep them occupied too.
A great swimming pool; so bring the togs; a BMX track, so bring the bikes; a skateboard scooter area, so bring these too (if you have them). Also playground equipment and lots of room for ball games.

For a number of activities, the children participate in teams so if they are to get the most out of the rally they need to be willing to support the team activities and be there for the entire rally. There is however still lots of free time to just chill and catch up with friends. Great sponsorship through National Office and support from the CBOP Area ensures that there are plenty of prizes on offer.
Access to the Lake Rerewhakaaitu Domain is from 12.30pm Sunday 5th January with the rally concluding Noon on Friday 10 January. All attendees must have a certified self-contained van. Tents are permitted however the total number of family members must be covered by the CSC limit for the van.
Attendees must prebook as numbers will be limited to 150 children. While the rally is targeted for 5-18 year olds, younger children in a family are welcome to attend but will not be formally allocated to a team as we have a 25 per team limit. To pre book email cbop.chair@ gmail.com (no texts please) include your name, membership number, contact phone number, children’s first & last names and ages as at 3 January 2025 and whether a boy or girl. Your pre-registration email will be used for follow-up communication.
If you can bring a safety boat or jet ski, early indication at preregistration would be appreciated.
Once you have pre-booked you will receive confirmation and a full registration sheet will be emailed to you. The rally fee is $45 per adult, children up to 18 are free.
