Interislander has three ferries that take passengers with vehicles – Aratere, Kaitaki and Kaiarahi. You’ll find the facilities and entertainment on each ferry are different and you can find out more here. NZMCA members love Interislander’s adults-only lounges: the Premium Lounge (previously known as the Plus Lounge) and the Queen Charlotte Lounge. If you’re not travelling with your kids or grandies, upgrade to one of the lounges for some peace and quiet before the next leg of your journey.
Interislander has always been great for families: good value and lots to keep them entertained. If you island hop on Kaitaki you can now book the new Pelorus Jack Lounge. The kids will love it so you will too!
All three ferries offer an adults-only 18+ Premium Lounge (previously known as a Plus Lounge). NZMCA members can upgrade and book a seat in the lounge for only an extra $65 per person – saving $15 off the standard rate*. Ask any NZMCA member and they’ll tell you it’s the best way to sail the Strait and worth every cent. Your ticket includes a guaranteed comfy seat with great views, entertainment (TV, magazines and local papers), and a delicious array of hot and cold meals, deserts, sandwiches and snacks along with beverages during your sailing. New to Cook Strait, the Kaitaki is now offering families an even better sailing experience with their new Pelorus Jack Lounge. Bookings are open now and it's only $35 extra per adult/child for NZMCA members - saving you $10 each.
If you're travelling with kids or grandies aged 2-17 this could be a great option to keep them together and entertained. Your ticket includes a light buffet, tea/coffee, and guaranteed comfy seats with a table.
