Momorangi Bay Campground is a serviced family campsite, run by DOC staff, located in a sheltered bay, popular for swimming, boating and fishing. There is a short forest walk and glow worm grotto on site.
Tasks
Your duties will usually take 2-3 hours per day, more when DOC staff are on their days off.
These include:
What we can provide
What to bring
What to expect
If your application is successful DOC staff will give you a full induction, training and support for you to carry out duties on the campground.
Insurance: DOC cannot pay for any medical costs or loss of personal equipment incurred during your stay. If you're an international volunteer we strongly recommend travel insurance.
Food reimbursement
DOC will reimburse volunteer’s food expenses up to $100 per week of camp hosting. You will need to provide grocery receipts to receive payment. It’s a good idea to keep your grocery receipts a week or two before you start.
For volunteers with a NZ bank account, we deposit the money directly into your account after your hosting stint. There is usually a 2 to 3-week processing delay. For those that don’t have a NZ bank account, we can provide you with a FreshChoice grocery voucher.
